Presentation Evening and Audition dates are as follows:
Presentation evening: Tuesday 6 June, 7:30pm, Shottermill Club
Audition rehearsals: Thursday 8 June & Tuesday 13 June, 7.30pm, Players Studio. Thursday 15 June, 7.30pm (until 8.30 pm) Haslemere Youth Hub
Early Auditions: Thursday 15 June, 8.45pm, Haslemere Youth Hub.
Auditions: Saturday 17 June, 1.30pm, Haslemere Hall note time & date
First rehearsal: Tuesday 20 June, 7.30pm, Shottermill Club
Thereafter rehearsals will be on Tuesdays at Shottermill Club and Thursdays at Haslemere Youth Hub.
We are really excited to have the rights to perform the beautiful and poignant Gary Barlow & Tim Firth hit musical Calendar Girls the Musical just before it starts its national UK tour.
Inspired by real life events, Calendar Girls the Musical tells the story of a group of ordinary women from a small Yorkshire town who did something extraordinary. After the death of a much-loved husband, this small group of WI women decide to raise money for a new settee for the hospital’s visitors room… by doing a nude calendar! Despite facing resistance from family and friends and the emotional and personal ramifications that ensue, they don’t give up, with hilarious and unexpected outcomes.
Come along to the presentation evening to hear from our Director, Alexandra Boughton and MD Lizzie Hales and find our all you need to know about the storyline and characters, auditions and audition pieces and their plans for rehearsals over the next five months.
This is an ensemble piece and all roles, including chorus, will be auditioned.
