Oh my, do we have a treat in store for you!  Is there anyone out there that doesn’t know the story of Dorothy Gale who, following a cyclone in her home of Kansas, mysteriously finds herself among the Munchkins of Munchkin Land?

Arriving in Munchkin Land (and inadvertently landing on the Wicked Witch of the East) Dorothy is met by Glinda, the beautiful and kind Witch of the North and the Munchkins who, encouraged by Glinda, bravely come out to meet Dorothy.  Desperate to return home to her dear Aunt Em and Uncle Henry, Dorothy takes their advice to “Follow the Yellow Brick Road” to the “Merry Old Land of Oz” to seek the help of the Great and Powerful Wizard of Oz?  But before she’s taken even a step along the way, the Wicked Witch of the West, far more wicked and cruel than her sister, arrives to claim the magical ruby slippers.  But no….the ruby slippers have gone…..magically placed on Dorothy’s feet by Glinda!  Incensed, the Wicked Witch promises that she will have her revenge and vanishes in a rage.

More than ever, Dorothy longs to be home and safe so sets out on her journey to Oz.  Along the way she meets the Scarecrow who thinks “If I Only Had a Brain” life would be so much better so he joins her on her quest hoping that he too will be able to enlist the help of the Wizard.  Soon they are joined by the Tinman who believes “If I Only Had a Heart” he could be tender and gentle….and awful sentimental.  Lastly, they meet the Cowardly Lion who knows “If I Only Had the Nerve” he’d be “King of the Forest”.  The four friends set out on their journey to Oz but the Wicked Witch of the West is never far away, casting spells and putting all manner of obstacles in their way….the Jitterbugs who exhaust them with dancing, the Poppies who send them to sleep (stopped by the Snowflakes, conjured by Glinda that wake them up), the flying monkeys and her guards, the Winkies (all played by both children’s and adult’s ensemble).

Will Dorothy and her friend’s succeed in their quest?  Most of you probably know this heart-warming tale so will be able to answer that question…..but do come along to the presentation evening to find out more.
