EVITA

The Haslemere Players are delighted to have been granted a licence to present a full-scale stage production of Evita at the Haslemere Hall in October 2019.

Evita charts the meteoric rise of Eva Perón from poverty to sainthood. Set in Argentina between 1934 and 1952, the Olivier and Tony award-winning musical follows Eva María Duarte on her journey from poor illegitimate child to ambitious actress to, as the wife of military leader-turned-president Juan Perón, the most powerful woman in Latin America, before her death from cancer at 33.

With one of Lloyd Webber’s greatest scores, combining Latin, jazz, pop and classical influences to evoke the spirit of Argentina, Evita is one of the most popular musicals of all time, with songs including “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina”, “Oh What a Circus”, “Buenos Aires” and “Another Suitcase in Another Hall”. The Haslemere Players are thrilled to be able to bring this iconic show to Haslemere.

Evita will be presented at the Haslemere Hall from Tuesday 22 to Saturday 26 October 2019.  Evening performances will be at 7.30pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.  Check back here for further information on ticket sales!
